Nancy Kerrigan's Brother Mark Kerrigan Back To Jail

Nancy Kerrigan's brother Mark Kerrigan has been sent back to prison after failing multiple alcohol tests.

Nancy Kerrigan, the Olympic figure skater, saw her brother head back to jail on Monday 14th February 2011, after he violated the terms of his bail, reports the Associated Press. Mark had been out on bail as he awaits trial for manslaughter charges in relation to his father's death. After failing four breath tests on Saturday, Kerrigan was found to be in violation of his $25,000 bail.

Although the results were below the legal driving limit, his conditions did not allow for any alcohol to be detected and he returned to prison. Assistant District Attorney Elizabeth Keeley said during a hearing in Massachusetts, It's a very serious violation in light of this case and the circumstances.

Kerrigan's lawyer Janice Bassil said she hoped that tests will prove that cough syrup was the reason for the alcohol reading, telling the judge that she will attempt to retrieve the medicine bottle from Kerrigan's home.

Kerrigan's father Daniel died after a physical argument with his son in January 2010. The family have since supported Mark, insisting that he is not guilty of his father's death.
